Founded and cultivated by Martin Åström and Rasmus Raphaëlle Östebro, Leaf and Purity is a conflating partnership of biformity and symbiosis, an enterprise of boldness and ingenuity ~ an artistic duo, a sacred container ~ a forest glade where holistic healing approaches, creative services, and artistic production are interconnected through an ever-evolving mycelium of ancient traditions and modern assimilations – of spirituality, culture, and science.

Leaf and Purity are formed by two intertwined stems, of holistic healing and integrative arts, that expand into a far-reaching branch work, which bears fruits of a wide variety – entrenched in a knowing that the expressions that which emit through us, are naturally nurtured by, and dependant on a deep and divinely entangled root system.

For us, the core of a holistic approach is to be found in the tunes of unison, which in protraction is why we believe that the very most sensible thing for us to do, is to allow Leaf and Purity to reflect our wholeness and embrace the full range of our ever-evolving vision and mission – since we manifest as an extension of our practices, and our offerings, a reflection of the world we wish to create.

Martin is an inspirational force which emits a playful and contagious curiosity. One of his mottos might just be: “I’ve never tried that before, so I’m sure I can do it!” He navigates life by alchemising theory and knowledge through practical explorations and experiences. This unpretentious attitude has gifted Martin with a humble courage that influences his surroundings to bring forth, take accountability for, and live their truth.

His unique frequency mirrors northeast Sweden’s dramatic coastlines and deep forest landscapes. Growing up amidst such a diverse nature has surely set the scene for constructive echoes and reflections that reverberate acceptance, adaption, ignition, and dedication, all emanating through Martin’s ways of operating in this world.

Since childhood, Martin has had a profound comradeship with the rivers, forests, and animals. These relationships have allowed him to become a recipient of the simplistic complex models of communication provided by Earth, and have furthermore paved the path for Martin’s interest in, and devotion to health and nutrition – where the baseline of respect to ancient plant- and nature-based medicinal modalities intersect and unfold through inquisitiveness, with the impact of modern science.

As a kambô practitioner, Martin is trained by, and a member of the International Association of Kambo Practitioners (IAKP). Some of his other educations include furniture carpentry training; studies on health science, with a major in biological science, provided by Linnaeus University, and course studies on nature medicines, offered by Karolinska Institutet.

With a relaxed and playful attitude to previous roles and positions such as operation manager, food and beverage manager, restaurant manager, and set producer, Martin has gained experience in the fields of hospitality, spa and wellness, service, hosting; film- and stage production. Through this assembled résumé, Martin has developed a particularly rare approach, impactful gaze and crystal clear vision, which combines panoramic views with delicate details.

In his essence, Martin is an embodiment of interconnected polarities – which is to be felt through his presence, expression, and offerings. He is a torch carrier for the element of fire, which he balances with his internal waters to bring forth all constructive nuances of his external flames.

Earthly alienesque and grounded in the core’s eternal root system, Rasmus Raphaëlle is an interdimensional creator whose practice is a lived practice of participation and creation – a practice of being in relation with the earth, in unison with great mystery – a practice that through its very existence, with fierce tenderness are transgressing borders and challenging ideas of perceived and constructed separation between genres, disciplines, and territories.

Through their practice, Rasmus Raphaëlle weaves their interconnected cosmic web with threads of translucent gold. Their essence, message, and storytelling emit through a palette of intuitive and abstracted languages, that moves fluidly between contexts and niches, as it connect spheres of piercing light and devouring darkness with worlds of seen and unseen, through realms of physical and spiritual matter.

The remarkably cultivated aspect of presence awareness that is a signum for Rasmus Raphaëlle’s practice and offerings derives from refined experiences of exclusive and state-of-the-art approaches to service, which has been gathered in fields of fashion retail, esteemed spa and wellness facilities, pedagogic mentorship, as well as a broad and multi-spectral artistic path and training.

The list of their education includes professional dance training at the Swedish National Ballet School, studies in fine arts, performance- and performing arts, spatial design, and writing through institutions such as Konstfack – University of Arts, Crafts and Design, Gothenburg School of Art, Bergen Academy of Art and Design, and Stockholm University of the Arts. Alongside their academic training and education in the field of arts, Rasmus Raphaëlle has undergone Breathwork Facilitator Training with Shikoba Summer.

In their upbringing, they were lovingly encouraged to explore concepts of authenticity, which empowered them to find their voice through rhythm, movement, sound, and visual expression. This has laid the foundation for viewing the body as a sacred instrument that can be attuned through imagination and play.

Growing up amid Lapland’s ancient traditions and vigorous nature has instilled an enrapturing faith in the healing qualities of this richly nuanced earth. This conviction now resonates at the core of Rasmus Raphaëlle’s motifs and engagements.

They are a magician of creative languages, an emphatic transmuter of energy, and a shapeshifter with a sovereignly transparent and innocent heart. Firm and soft, ancient and futuristic, bold and humble ~ Rasmus Raphaëlle is an embodiment of duality ~ highly sensile and strikingly powerful.
